Self Reflections

My posts yesterday generated a lot of wonderful, wonderful comments from you all (and a phone call from my Mum. Thanks Mum 🙂 ) that got me thinking about things.

I share a lot of my life with you all on this blog. I want you to know that I don’t write these posts for pity or compliments (although my ego does thank you). I write what I feel led to write at the time. My posts may have been triggered by comments on my blog, or comments on someone else’s blog. They may be triggered by thoughts that come to me during my meditations or something that has happened in my world somewhere. Although my posts are pretty random and sometimes all over the place, they are parts of my life. The reason I share these with you is so that you know that when I talk about looking for the blessings (and beauty April – ’cause that’s important) in life or developing gratitude, it is because I have learned from personal experience just how much it can help get through the tough times in life.

I just want to go on record that I don’t believe that I am  a strong person. If I am then I am held up by medication (and B3 Nav) and those around me who love me.

We all have these resources and inner strength. I’m just trying to help you find it. Because if we can all be happy and get past the bad times in our lives, we can be invincible! 😉

Have a blessed day 🙂

  1. You are right, we all have an inner strength, and some of us like you, also know how to use it. That’s why I call you a strong woman. A lot of people with your experiences in life would break down, instead of surriving and find new ways in life. And medication don’t make you strong, it just help you to surrive here and now. Know from own experiences too.
When we are ready to look at the “problems” we eather break or find the inner strength.
I’m happy to learn you to know in here.

  2. At no time have I ever felt your posts are written to gain pity or praise, but I do give you praise because the posts get me thinking and that to me is the craft of a true writer. To encourage reflection by others is a talent. Sometimes it’s harder to see in ourself that which others do. Keep writing your style , I’m sure I’m not alone in saying its a power giving style.

    1. Thank you. Your words on my writing mean a lot to me. I’m glad that I encourage others to self reflection. I think that learning about ourselves and how we deal with situations is powerful.
      Blessings to you 🙂

  3. I am delighted you share your thoughts with us. I too have never thought you were writing for any other reason but to share your experiences and maybe empower others. Your sharing of your past losses with you two brothers was particularly relevant to me, as is the ongoing grieving and living of life after losing your four unborn little ones.
So I say Thank you. I do think you are strong but that does not make the feelings any less. People have always said that they think I am so strong and it usually makes me cross. It is as if I will suffer less as a result which is so not true.

  4. Well said! Here’s a poem I love – The Difference Between Strength and Courage

It takes strength to be firm,
It takes courage to be gentle.

It takes strength to stand guard,
It takes courage to let down your guard.

    It takes strength to conquer,
    It takes courage to surrender.

It takes strength to be certain,
It takes courage to have doubt

It takes strength to fit in,
It takes courage to stand out.

It takes strength to feel a friend’s pain,
It takes courage to feel your own pain.

It takes strength to hide your own pains,
It takes courage to show them.

It takes strength to endure abuse,
It takes courage to stop it.

It takes strength to stand alone,
It takes courage to lean on another

    It takes strength to love,
It takes courage to be loved.

    It takes strength to survive,
    It takes courage to live.

Whenever you feel you have neither, may the heart of the universe hug you today with its warmth, and love.

And the wind carry a voice that tells you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world wishing you well!

    So true Sue!

  5. It is wonderful that you share your experiences and thoughts in an effort to help others. As far as being invincible goes – I wish! That sure would be nice, wouldn’t it? 🙂

    1. I don’t think I would want to be invincible. It would be difficult to do.
And then I’d have to wear a cape or something and join the League of Super Heroes!! 😉 😛
