On Awards and this weekend

Hi all!!
It’s Saturday and my heart is so happy. I love the weekends. I’ve had a bit of a big week with this back/head thing. Yesterday when the head spins started, I made a frantic call to my GP who worked back late last night so that she could see me. We ruled out what wasn’t causing all my symptoms – head spins, ringing in my ears, fullness/pressure in my head etc. My blood pressure is perfect. My eyesight is good (not perfect. IfΒ  it were perfect I wouldn’t wear glasses) and I don’t have an ear infection.Β  After the spinal xrays the other day, my chiropractor has identified that the vertebrae in my neck are not aligned correctly. (He also found a fractured vertebrae in my lower back that is the cause of a lot of pain). I have had two chiro sessions so far and two more booked next week. My lower back is going great but my head issues still prevail. I have a referral to an ENT specialist if things don’t settle. My GP also mentioned the possibility of Meneire’s Disease. Let’s just take things one step at a time.

So this weekend, I have made a promise to myself to step away from the computer. I currently have 800 blog notifications in my in-box. I am trying to catch up but I don’t think I will make it. I am going to schedule some posts and I will be back to comment later this evening and possibly tomorrow morning HOWEVER this weekend is about me and my family. I am going to finish the quilt I started last week and start planning one for the Tween’s bed. I am going to take the Tween up on the offer for her to teach me how to play chess. Although I have no way of knowing if she is teaching me the correct way, I won’t really mind. I am going to read some of my books and magazines. We are going shopping for her school supplies (have I ever mentioned how much I love stationery stores? Okay, maybe once or twice 😳 ). I am also going to go to Spotlight to look into the Project Life stuff I blogged about yesterday. (I have a little Christmas cash I can put toward it). I might get some photos from last year printed out. I am going to spend time with my animals as well. Little Madiba is beginning to find his vocal chords and has begun little trills every so often. He loves when I stand beside him and whistle. πŸ™‚ I am also going to pull out my short stories and work on them a little. So they are my weekend plans.

Now… awards!
I’ve been thinking a lot about this. I love receiving awards and I love passing them on however in my effort to step away from the computer a little, I need to re-think how I am going to do this. I currently have seven awards awaiting my acceptance. So what I am going to do is accept all of these awards right now, put them in my awards gallery and start afresh. I want to thank each and every one of you for these awards.

  1. Enjoy your weekend! I am considering a “blog free” weekend, if only to relax, read, and maybe get out with my camera. It does seem every time I have said, “I’m not blogging this weekend”..I come up with something I simply MUST write. Hugs my friend πŸ™‚

  2. Good for you for taking a weekend ‘off’ for the family. I hope you enjoy every moment of it. Also, congratulations on your awards. Some of those have the cutest names. Creativity makes it more fun.

    1. Well so far we have been book shopping, had some photos printed, I’ve started work on my last year’s family album, watched all the photos from the middle child’s wedding on TV, bought fabrics for a quilt for the Tween, played with the cat…. and the weekend isn’t over yet!

        1. I didn’t get my quilt finished because the in-laws dropped in for a visit and the Garden Gnome wanted his bar runner made. So I did that instead.
My head was really playing up yesterday so it was a bit quieter.

  3. Wow, congrats on all these awareds. I’ve not received one yet myself (well, did several on my old blog, bu tmy current blog has only been on WP for just over a month) and am a bit too shy to conside rmyself having received that award you sent to everyone who likes your post.

As for your health problems, I’m so sorry to hear about this. Spinning in the head is horrible. I hope it goes away soon and you won’t need the ENT appointment.

  4. Congratulations on your awards. Suz…I totally understand about the computer and your health. I’ve been dealing with things like this since 1997 and finally I had neck surgery in 2004. I have numbness in my right arm and moderate to severe pain at times down my entire right side from my jaw to my foot. I say this to catch your attention yes, but to hopefully convey the need to reduce computer time. Check out Pete Egoscue’s Pain Free book. They are relaxing postures that help realign your body. I find them helpful. HUGS!!!!!

    1. Unfortunately I have a desk job at work so I spend a great deal of my life on the computer. All good. We will get through this.
Thanks for the recommend. I’ll check it out. πŸ™‚

  5. I’m sorry to hear about your health problems, I hope they clear up with the chiro. treatments. I have mild Meneire’s disease, it flares up from time to time, I don’t mention it much because it’s so mild in my case and all my other stuff is much worse. I do have constant ringing in my ears and occasional dizziness, but it’s not too bad, there are meds for it but they didn’t work for me. Anyway, enough about me, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, don’t bother to reply to this, save ya some time, my feelers won’t be hurt, OK? Get off the ‘puter and go be with your family right now πŸ™‚

    1. From what I have read of Meniere’s it does flare on occasion and comes and goes but it never goes away.
The ‘crickets’ in my ears are constant right now and the heavy fullness in my head can be very annoying. As I still don’t know what it is and the symptoms still don’t appear to be abating, I can see myself going to the specialist some time in the near future.
Glad you stopped by Mary, I always love reading your comments. πŸ™‚
      Thank you.
