I know that I am no the only one that has said “I just can’t do this any more”. Why do we say this? Do we expect a genie to magically pop out from under the kitchen sink and say “What is your desire? Your wish is my command”? Because it doesn’t matter how many times we actually say this, we are still standing in the same place, surrounded by the same people with the same situation that needs to be dealt with.
There is no genie under the kitchen sink. There is no magic pill or potion that can stop what is happening. There is only us – YOU.
Like many of you reading this, I have also cringed at the words “God doesn’t give us what we cannot handle”. This implies we are super beings that can breeze through life.
The truth is, we are flawed. We are human.
But we have something that separates us from every other human on the planet – our own unique personality.
It is what makes us special.
There is only one of us in the entire universe.
Our personality doesn’t shape or define us. We define our personalities.
We dig deep within us and either choose to give up and allow life to continue to wash over us or we raise up and live to fight another day.
Our life is a gift.
Each morning we open our eyes is a gift that many others haven’t been given the opportunity to do today.
The day is a blank canvas.
Whilst we may have things that need to be done throughout the day, those tasks don’t define us. How we go about completing those tasks does.
We are blessed to be the person we are.
We are like no others. Oh, there may be similarities and shared passions and desires, but we still remain uniquely ‘us’.
We live.We breathe.
We struggle.
We fight.
We cry.
But we also laugh.
And we love.
Each day that we are on this earth we are here to bless others and to live our lives.
Nobody else can live our life for us and no matter what is going on in our lives, it is only us who can deal with the issues that face us. This doesn’t mean that we can’t reach out for help because after all, we are beings created to share. We share many things including help.
You are the only one who can live your life.
You are strong.
You are strong enough to live your life.
Have a blessed day 🙂
I’ve tears fighting the lids of both eyes.

This is an inspiration Sue!
Of course, I have an additional thought that comes up … when someone complains (about life or anything else) its usually because they want to be heard. A complaint is a need in disguise. There is something missing for them. Often they don’t mean what they say, but want empathy and support….. When I heard about this, I saw a colleague of mine (who had been v. annoying) in a completely new light!

Sometimes a complaint is that and sometimes it is just a person who is not happy unless they have something to complain about.

Ah yes … and how annoying is that 🙂

Good one! Months ago, I knew this to be true logically–but not emotionally. Sometimes we have to swallow our pride and ask for help. Depression can stop us dead in our tracks–especially when we allow it to continue without fighting for some semblance of a life. It’s very hard to see that while depressed, and that is where the “we need to help”, because that is what we do.

I think when we know things logically we are much harder on ourselves when we don’t become the person we believe we should be.

So true. We are patient with others around us, and try to avoid hurting their feelings by saying horrible things, yet we turn on ourselves and say things we wouldn’t say to anybody else. We need to have the same kind of compassion for ourselves. It’s a struggle, but it can be done.

Learning compassion for yourself is one of the hardest things to do I’ve learned.

You hit the nail here Sue.
I agree, that we can say stupid things, just because of confusion.
We need to be,grateful for every day, we have.
Thanks for sharing.

God gives us things to help us spiritually grow even though these things can be so difficult. At least that’s what I believe and what motivates me every day. Thank you for this thoughtful post.
