Monochrome Madness – Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers

My entry for this week’s Monochrome Madness on Leanne Cole’s blog was taken at the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers.
This particular photo was taken at Picnic Point not far from where I took the photo that I shared the other day with the Tween admiring the view over the valley below.
We were travelling and sightseeing with friends however they became used to me dropping behind to take photos. I found this flower bed below some trees and the sun was shining right through the poppies and they had turned towards the sunlight.
I loved how it lit up the whole flower. It took a few goes to get the couple of photos thatΒ  I managed because there was a breeze up on the point so I had to kneel down and wait for the breeze to stop bouncing the flowers around in order to get the photo I envisioned.
Higher powers must have been listening I guess and noticed that I was on my knees saying “Please stop blowing” and answered my plea for a few brief seconds. πŸ˜‰Β  After I took the photos, I caught up with everyone else and continued our sightseeing.

    1. They do don’t they.
As I type this, I am looking out the window at my favourite yellow daisies that are turned toward the morning light yet in the afternoons they are facing the other way. It’s funny how they do that really.
