I haven’t been a regular contributor to Leanne Cole and Laura Macky’s Monochrome Madness but I have been a contributor from time to time.
Today marks a special occasion for this challenge – the first birthday of Monochrome Madness!!
I’m sure when the girls began this challenge they certainly didn’t expect it to become so popular or to last for so long but it has endured the test of time. Long enough to celebrate blowing out a figurative candle at least.
To celebrate this week, Leanne has asked those who have contributed over the past year to post their favourite image and to create a gallery of other images that have been posted over the past 12 months.
There are some cracking images for sure and please take the time to check them out on Leanne’s blog
So without further ado:
Here is my favourite monochrome photo from the past year. It is one of my mother and my daughter my daughter’s wedding a few years ago.
And following is a gallery of some of my other favourites.
There is something magical about monochrome images. They have a timeless and ageless quality.
Thanks for allowing me to reminisce as part of the celebrations for the challenge.
Beautiful!

It has been an interesting experience, I wasn’t sure how long it would last, but I hope it continues, I do enjoy the challenge of producing an image each week. I was so happy when you started sending images Sue, it was fantastic. Great to see your contributions here, they look fantastic. Thank you as well, for being part of MM over the last 12 months.

Going through your gallery was delightful and when I saw some photos it was like greeting an old friend, I remembered that I really loved them. While all your photos are striking and just evoke feeling I do have a few favourites. I really love your first choice for obvious reasons 🙂

Agree Sue, with all the technology with photography, the old black and white can actually bring out more detail than colored, maybe because the color detracts from the subject sometimes.

Sometimes it is easier to process things when you only have to look at two colours I think Ian. Thanks for your kind words.
