This is one from my archives for Leanne Cole’s Monochrome Madness challenge this week.
This photo was taken almost a year ago now when we took our holiday south to Sydney.
After walking along Bondi Beach and the boardwalk there we found a skate bowl that was getting some serious action.
This little fellow was really putting on a show against people two and three times his age.
He certainly entertained us for a while. 🙂
Isn’t it absolutely amazing how talented these kids are? The balance and speed just blow me away. Awesome pic Suz – to get that he must have been perpendicular to the ground going up a half pipe – very nice timing with the picture and you must have used a high speed to catch a still of him going that fast.

Lovely shot Sue and knowing how fast they go, well timed! I like the sticker on his helmet which brings you into the photo and the lines on the tiles…:)

You must have been in the skate bowl as well?

No April. There were railings all around the bowl so that on-lookers could watch. I was hanging over one of the railings. lol

The things we will do for a nice shot. Good thing you didn’t fall over. 🙂

Oh dear. You know a couple of days ago, I knelt to take a photo of a magpie and when I got up realised that I had been kneeling in bird poo…. As you said. The things we do. lol

Skateboard stunt riding is very tough. Have had all my kids try their hands at skateboarding at one point or another. Staying upright was a challenge in itself. I imagine something like this would take many hours of practice, with lots of falls in the process. Admire those children who stick with it and do not give up.
You captured a great picture Suzanne. 🙂

I have enough trouble with bicycles Carl, so I’ve never tried my hand at the skateboard (well except for the time I tried standing on one on flat ground and that didn’t go too well). I think what these kids can do is amazing and he was certainly entertaining to watch.
