It’s Wednesday again, and that means that Monochrome Madness is once again on Leanne Cole’s blog.
I’m a little intermittent with my participation but when I remember, then I do try to send a photo to Leanne for inclusion in the challenge.
Last Friday, I took a group of seniors into Brisbane itself to check out the Golden Age of Hollywood exhibit in the Museum of Brisbane. This museum is located within the City Hall and due to some miscommunication and general ‘nothing ever goes to plan’ moments, we spent a half hour or so sitting in the foyer of the building awaiting our bus driver’s return.
In between running around and sorting things out, I took a few photos with my little Canon point and shoot of the interior. We couldn’t get into the main hall itself as there was a private function on, however the foyer was simply glorious.
I hope you enjoy gazing on this marble staircase as much as we enjoyed sitting at the bottom of it.
The epitome of elegance. All you need is a 40’s film star now.

Oh yes. Funnily enough, we had just come downstairs from viewing costumes from the Golden Age of Hollywood. I could see some of those costumes fitting in beautifully.

Talk about making the most of misfortune… never let an opportunity go by and I’m glad you thought to take a photo. Great angle too. I haven’t been up since they renovated it and now its on my list. Love your photo Sue 🙂

I love how the front of the staircase railing almost looks distorted. Like looking back in time. Nice!

Crikey Suz, I haven’t been in the town hall since 1982. Lovely shot, you can almost feel the smoothness.

I always admire marble, and the craftsmanship that goes into it. Suzanne, this really is AMAZING. Am really blown away by this. This is absolutely gorgeous. Your angle captured it so well, with the sweeping curve, and the rising banister.
Thank you for sharing! 🙂
