It’s hard to remain grounded with the world going mad around us. I confess, it concerns me as well, so I’ve had to try to stop watching television or listening to the news on the radio. Covid19 has impacted my world. Maybe not as much as it has impacted the world of others, but I’ve still felt the repercussions of it.
So, I don’t want this to be a doom and gloom post. Because when it comes down to it, we are all resilient human beings, and there are so many wonderful blessings around us. Continue reading
Gratitude and Blessings
Blessings and Gratitude
When I first began this blog ummm….. several years ago, I was inspired by a lovely blogger by the name of April who writes as Mom of 3 is Nuts.
She was on her own journey at the time and found solace and joy in each day by looking for the blessings.
Being the original type of person that I am (I say that tongue in cheek), I decided that since my life was also pretty low at the time, I would borrow her idea and look for my own blessings every day. This has become a practice that I have continued throughout the years and still continue on a daily basis. Continue reading
Well Played Universe… Well Played
Napoleon Hill started it all in 1937 with his book “Think and Grow Rich”.
He opened our minds to the concept of universal abundance and visualisation. Today, the teaching is still around and espoused by many such as Eckhart Tolle and Deepak Chopra.
It was made especially popular through the writings in “The Secret” and “E-Squared” (both of which I’ve read). So it stands to reason that I believe that we can create our own prosperity and abundance and often try it out. Continue reading
Happy Easter
This morning is Good Friday. Happy Easter to you all.
As I sit at my computer and listen to the sounds of the world waking up outside, I heard the noises of the grandchildren waking up inside.
I went to check on them and this is what I found.
One is still sound asleep but the other two are quietly reading.
I love moments like these.
Catching Waves
On Australia Day last year, I guest posted on the blog of the Opiniated Man – HarsH ReaLiTy with my post “Catching Waves”.
Sadly, my original post is no longer there. Luckily, I have a copy of it.
So, why am I talking about this old post now?
Well, a couple of weeks ago I was chatting with a beautiful and amazing young woman who has been a part of my life for almost as long as she has been alive. I love her very much. Unfortunately she is facing a battle with the insidious disease that begins with the letter ‘C’.
During our visit, we talked about all manner of things not related to her diagnosis, because after all who wants to talk about sad things all the time? Of course, the topic of conversation often drifted back to her diagnosis, treatment and her views on life. Continue reading
Life goes on…..
In the endless cycle of day after day, our life runs right along with it. At least mine does anyway. lol
I would be hard pressed to say that my life is anything less than busy right now. This working lark isn’t all it’s cracked up to be!
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy my job immensely. I just don’t enjoy getting up each morning and rushing around and then coming home at the end of the day and dropping onto the couch and not wanting to move from there.
I feel as if I am letting my family down because some nights I’m hard pressed to get up and cook a meal. Continue reading
Monday Musings
I am going to attempt to schedule some blog posts again since my life remains chaotic to some degree. When it is not chaotic, I am tired. When I am tired, I lay on the couch with my iPad and play mindless games before having an early night.
Either that, or I spend the time working on work stuff.
It’s one of those things, that when something occurs in life, priorities often need to be changed.
Unfortunately my blogging has been one of those things.
This is sad, because I really love my blog and the interactions that I have with all of you. So I am doing my best in keeping in touch even though it may be sporadic. Continue reading
Thought for today
Today is Mother’s Day.
It has been a quiet one for me.
Although the Son wanted me to attend church with he and my DIL this morning, I haven’t been feeling the best so begged off so that I could go back to bed. Today is also my DIL’s first Mother’s Day with empty arms.
I know that this day has been hard for her but it has been made easier through the kindness of others. Continue reading
