So much has happened in the last month. So many memories made…tears shed…challenges…and always love. If there is one thing that abounds in my family, it is love. We may not always outwardly show it, but it’s there.
As a postscript to my last post about Ethel** (not her real name). I went off to visit her bright and early on the Monday morning with hopes of seeing the smile on her face when I told her what alias I had given her in my blog post, to find her bed empty. Thinking she had been transferred to the nursing home, I approached the nursing station and spoke to the nurses on duty who informed me that sadly, Ethel had left this earth on the day after I saw her.
I still feel upset when I think of it all. I found about her funeral and made an effort to get there but due to the flooding occurring in our area at the time, the funeral had been postponed and I had no way of knowing when it had been postponed to. So I said my goodbye to her quietly here at home and fondly think of her wit and sense of humour regularly. Continue reading

And the results are in
We had our local show last weekend.
Once again, I left everything until the last moment to get my entries organised but I managed to get a few in.
My lead up to the show revolved around organising and gathering the entries of our clients as well as my own. This year, I also worked a stand on behalf of our organisation for a large part of the time. Continue reading
On reaching a milestone….
What do they call middle age now? I think I’ll look it up….
noun: middle age
the period after early adulthood and before old age, about 45 to 65.
Well that’s a relief, I thought I was past it! Looks like I’ve still got some time to go. Whew!
According to quite a few of my friends and family, I’m now officially old and ailing quickly.
Thank goodness for Google to pick me up and put me back on my feet. Continue reading
Family times
I’ve mentioned before that we sometimes go to watch our grandchildren play sport. The other weekend, we watched the girls play netball and our grandson played soccer (or football to those of you in the UK).
Often, their games clash and we can only watch one or the other, however this times the planets all aligned and we watched the girls play each other and then a short time later, was the boy’s soccer match. Continue reading
Monochrome Madness 2-14
I’m pretty hit and miss with these because it depends upon the type of week that I am having and how busy I am whether I remember to send a photo to Leanne for her Monochrome Madness challenge. This week I have left it to the last minute. *oops*
Last weekend, we went road tripping with friends of ours just over the border and into Northern NSW. I took this photo late Saturday afternoon in the town of Lismore. The shops were all closed and the town was pretty quiet when we wandered around. Continue reading
Monochrome Madness 2-12
It’s Wednesday again, and that means that Monochrome Madness is once again on Leanne Cole’s blog.
I’m a little intermittent with my participation but when I remember, then I do try to send a photo to Leanne for inclusion in the challenge. Continue reading
Monochrome Madness 2-11
This is one from my archives for Leanne Cole’s Monochrome Madness challenge this week.
This photo was taken almost a year ago now when we took our holiday south to Sydney. Continue reading
Sunday Stills – Babies
I saw the Sunday Stills challenge this week (that in itself was a challenge as my email was playing silly buggers and downloading and re-downloading on an endless loop) and thought “Aha! Babies, I can do”. lol
Being the proud mother and grandmother that I am, I have photos of babies running through my veins. Continue reading
